IF THERE IS A MOVIE WORTH WATCHING HERE IT IS

When Titanic came out in theaters in December 1997 I didn't want to see it, but my husband did. Even though I am probably the biggest Leo fan why see a movie about a ship sinking. I didn't think it would be that good anyway. We went to see another movie but we did not want to wait 1 1/2 hours to it started. We decided "Titanic" it would be, I mean I am a Leonardo DiCaprio fan and he never has done bad work yet.

It begins with Bill Paxton and his crew underneath the surface looking for the prized "Heart of the ocean". Instead they find a drawing of young Rose and she is wearing the necklace. They find her and bring her to the ship where she tells the story of her and Jack on there four days together.

Rewind to when titanic sets sail to America.

In the start you see Jack and his friend Fibrizo (spelling) playing poker. Jack gets the winning hand and the tickets aboard the "unsinkable" Titanic. You see the rich girl Rose pulling up with her bigot fiance Cal and her snobby mother.

When Jack is out talking to his friends on the main deck this is when he sees the "untainable" Rose. They finally do when Rose tries to jump off the back off the ship because she feels trapped in her life and Jack saves her. To thank Jack for saving Rose her fiance Cal invites him to dinner. Where he tells his tales of traveling and drawing all over the world.

Jack teaches Rose just because he is not rich he can love her just the same. Tells Rose she needs to get away from them or they will pull her under. Soon they fall in love for their short lives together.

Rose has Jack draw her like he does his "french girls-nude" with only the prized necklace on. When she puts it away they see someone coming in the room and run. They end up in the cargo area where they find a car and make love in the back seat.

When they get outside Rose tells Jack when the ship docks she is getting off with him. As they are kissing the Titanic hits the iceberg and rips holes in the side of the ship. Slowly the ship takes on water till and everyone starts to get to the boats. Which are supposed to hold 65 but some only had 12 in them.

They run all over the ship trying to find a boat and run into trouble along the way. Once they get to a boat Rose gets in one thinking Cal has a boat on the other side for him and Jack. As the boat is being lowered she thinks back to what they both promised if you jump, I jump, and Rose jumps back on the Titanic.

They get to the spot where they first meet waiting for the boat to go completely under. Soon Titanic is under water, everyone is in the water(what a sad sight seeing hundreds in the water). Jack freezes to death and she promises him "I will never let go I will never let go".

At the end since she got to tell her story she goes to rest peacefully and passes on to go to Jack. Everyone who dies is there waiting for her. It is the sweets thing and I cried when I saw it.

If you love real life movies go see it. It's worth the 3 hours and 15 minutes. I got it on video and still love it.

A quote from Titanic sums it up. "1,500 people went into the sea when TITANIC sank from under us. Six were saved from the water, myself included. 6 out of 1,500. After the seven hundred people in the boats had nothing to do but wait.....wait to die, wait to live, wait for an absolution which would never come". End of quote.

The acting is wonderfully done. Wonderful sound effects and music, they did a wonderful job protraying the first and last voyage of the Titanic for those 4 days on the "Unsinkable" ship of dreams. I think the ship was beautiful, with so much detail put into it, looked exactly like it did when it set sail in 1912.

Other great Leonardo movies to watch are: Man in the Iron Mask (does a great job playing the roles of the two brothers) and Whats eating Gilbert Grape (Leonardo should have won the Oscar, playing the role of a mentally challenged boy).
