Definately deserved the Oscars

Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet portray class-crossed lovers in James Cameron's gargantuan movie Titanic. DiCaprio is Jack Dawson, a poor boy flowing with the wind who wins tickets for the Titanic in a card game. Winslet plays Rose, an upper-class lady engaged to a man she doesn't love (Billy Zane). Through fate Jack and Rose meet, and, through an even higher power, fall in love. A colossal adventure amazingly demonstrating the 1912 catastrophe, while intertwining an engaging story.

This movie, being the most expensive film of all time, has some amazing effects and a great cast. I feel the talent in this movie could have been utilized a bit better with a tighter script, but as it stands Titanic is not a movie to be missed. From start to finish, my eyes never left the screen. This is a feat considering the movie runs 3 hours and 14 minutes!

All of the cast members are excellent and the last hour of the movie has you riddled with sadness and realization of the actual tragedy 88 years ago.

Compelling and a treat to watch.
