Its not a Norelco, but it does work.
Pros:
It looks cool, It self-cleans, It looks cool!
Cons:
Flimsy trimmer, cleaning solution can be hard to find
The Bottom Line:
It's not great, its not a Norelco, but I like it. It just depends on you skin and your facial hair. Some people it may work better for then me.

I know the razor you use depends on your skin. For me, I purchased the Remington R-9500 because it was self-cleaning and the ego thought it looked cool. If I could do it again, I would go back to a Norelco. For me, the Remington shaves close and does feel good, but not as close as I would have liked it. Even after I shave I still feel the stubbys on my face. The Norelco I had before the battery died out, lasted me 4 years. Shaving with it was like shaving with a blade. My face was baby butt soft!
Other then myself not being 100% satisfied with the Remington, I have had zero problems with the razor and the base. My only complaint is most of the stores in my area don't carry the cleaning solution. Those who do only stock like 5 bottles. So finding the solution can be tricky. I have to buy 2 and when I get down to 1 I need to start shopping for another.
Overall, its a durable razor that looks really cool even with the flimsy trimmer! After all its just a razor. I haven't found any real good razors with good trimmers. Its always one or the other!
Update: Its been about 6 more months now. My blades are still sharp and it is shaving a lot closer. I found a BEFORE shave called Electra Shave. You splash this on your face before you shave. It allows the hairs to stiffen and lets the blades cut closer. I am now getting that extra close shave that I did not have before. With that, I am very happy with my shaver.
Also, I have not had any problems with the cleaning system.
