The Corpse Bride

A very familiar voice turns up in this Tim Burton animated film that is done in the same way as The Nightmare Before Christmas. Johnny Depp is the voice of Victor who is to marry Victoria played by Emily Watson. Johnny of course has a slew of things he's done over the years like 21 Jump Street, Nightmare On Elm Street, Edward Scissorhands, The Pirates Of The Carribean and many more. Emily is played by Helena Bonham which is a familiar name but what she's done doesn't come directly to mind.

It is the 19th century so arranged marriages are the norm. Victoria's parents arrange to have their daughter marry Victor in the hopes of finally gaining some money since they seem to be broke. Victor is a bit of a bumbler so the wedding is put on hold until he can get his vows right. He makes his way to a cemetery where he finally gets his vows perfectly only to find himself face to face with a corpse bride.

A slightly dark but wonderful tale with a little sadness tossed in after all Emily didn't have her happy ending what with being killed on her wedding day and all. There's some singing so there's a musical vibe to it like in The Nightmare Before Christmas. Fans of that movie are sure to enjoy this one as well since the ones that are meant to be together get together. Also are a batch of features that are sure to be enjoyed.
