Pros: Rock music, as real as it gets.
Cons: Really, none to speak of...slightly preachy/pretentious?
The Bottom Line: This is simply one of the defining rock albums of the nineties. Weve all moved on since its release, but Throwing Copper remains an unquestioned classic.
Review: I love it. Traditionally, the music critic would write from a position of assumed objectivity and impartiality, eschewing the first person voice and pretending that their personal impressions didnt matter for them, it was all about the...

Pros: Vocals, guitars, bass and drums conspire to enthrall and impress
Cons: A few of the lyrics don't bear closer inspection
The Bottom Line: Highly talented, guitar and vocal driven band, playing a variety of uniquely original hard rock, pop-rock and everything in between. A classic.
Review: What happens when you take a 50-something rock and roller, whose musical education basically stalled ...

Pros: Great songs, great riffs, easy rock music
Cons: T.B.D., emotional cliches
The Bottom Line: Throwing Copper is an impressive album and remains the most notable of five releases for Live.
Review: Believe it or not
I got my first CD player for high school graduation in 1995. Just before receiving the gift, I purchased my very first disc. Lives hugely popular 1994 release Throwing Copper was a nobleyet modestbeginning... |

Pros: Sooo many. Rock, introspection, sick rhythm section, timing
Cons: erm...some poorly placed expletives, maybe?
The Bottom Line: Throwing Copper is one of the absolute landmark rock albums of the '90s. At least, it is in my mind.
Review: It was just last night that I was espousing the virtues of Throwing Copper to my wife. You see, it's taking its turn in my car's 10-disc changer this week, and in the process getting about 50% of the playing time when I'm actually in the car (for ...

Pros: wide range of tempos; lyrics; classic rock songs for the ages
Cons: not every song is perfect
The Bottom Line: Awesome.
Man these bottom lines are getting tough to think of.
Review: Way down the line, when listing the essential rock albums of the '90s, it will be hard to skip over Live's Throwing Copper, even amidst Nevermind, Dirt, and all the other great works of the decade. Live's second...

Pros: A sincere, satisfying and timelessly ripe album
Cons: The persistent moralistic themes may irritate some
The Bottom Line: Live's sophomore tightens the screws, matures the members and addresses everything on the earthly scale with such credibility and creativity it commands mezmerized control of you throughout.
Review: Throwing Copper was a time when Live fastened their seatbelts and prepared for real commercial success. Gone is the garage feel of the previous, this album (once you get past the awful cover art) is a set of fine-tuned yet still edgy rock tunes, ...

Pros: Thick walls of pure guitar sound, intense lyrics and it's all catchy!
Cons: A few shrilling screams now and then. A few instances of profanity.
The Bottom Line: Ticked off? We got you covered.
Introspective? Check.
In the mood to dance? We can handle that.
Review: No doubt, the name of the band, Live, may take you by surprise. It makes you wonder what kind of slogans they have to use to advertise a concert performance by the band. "Come see Live, live at the Ampitheater!" Well, I don't know.

Pros: Chad Gracey's drumming, the production, the overall quality of the disc
Cons: I hate T.B.D. with a passion
The Bottom Line: Throwing Copper is only surpassed by it's follow up: even if you're just a casual fan of +Live+, then you need this.
Review: As the so called "alternative music" format swept through the country in the early 1990s, many bands prospered. At the forefront of this was of course, the Seattle bands. But as 1994 began to pass, there was still plenty of room for more great bands to...

Pros: The choruses, the songs, the verses...
Cons: T.B.D., the fact they couldn't do it again.
The Bottom Line: Er... It's a good album...
Review: Yeah, I know, cheap title. Live are what I like to classify as "normal" rock. I mean, sure, it's great music, but it's... well... just regular rock. People call the "normal rock" from the early 90's "Grunge", and I guess that has its own sound, from ...

Pros: Intoxicating lyrics, wonderful sound, all around great CD!
Cons: nothing really
The Bottom Line: One of the best CDs I have ever bought!
Review: I started becoming interested in Live when my friend and I got tickets to see them and Counting Crows in concert last summer. I was familiar with several of their songs, but never really knew much about the band. Anyhow, my friend was going to see...
