Easy but cheaply made

I bought this as a gift to my 83-year-old dad.  The layout of buttons was not too hard for him to pick up.  However, the sleep and nap buttons stopped working 31 days after purchase.  I wish I had kept the proof of purchase to get the warranty, though collecting on the warranty would have added postage to the cost as well as likely left him without a clock for a month or more.
