Pros: The Writing and the Energy
Cons: ....Not really
Review: I have been wanting to write this for sometime now. Finally I have remember to do so. Paula Cole certainly rides the spectrum with this CD "This Fire." From the raspy, but mellow sweetness of "Carmen." The...

Well, she's ticked off about something |

Pros: Pure musical genius, the story of life (for some)
Cons: One rather weak track, the rest is brilliant
Review: "Harbinger" was just what it said it was. It announced the approach of the following, brilliant cd "This Fire". Don't get me wrong, "Harbinger" is brilliant, but "This Fire" is so much more.

Pros: An absolute musical journey
Cons: None
The Bottom Line: I suggest that you start with Paula's first album, "Harbinger", then move on to this one for the complete journey.
Review: This is probably my favorite album of all time.
I must admit that I wasn't very impressed with the whole Dawson's Creek "Where Have all the Cowboys Gone" thing. They played the song over and over, and it probably made people lose interest in... |

Pros: terrific voice, great production, good songs, something for everyone.
Cons: ...hmm... i don't know...not many cons here, if any...
The Bottom Line: Paula Cole has a beautiful voice, a talent for lyrics, and an ear for good music. What an outstanding project! Great CD!
Review: Paula Cole is a wonderful songwriter/singer/musician. I originally bought this album when "Where Have All The Cowboys Gone?" and "I Don't Want To Wait" were big radio hits. I figured I would like the CD some, but I had no idea how much I would LOVE...

Pros: Very inspired lyrics, intricate instrumentation..
Cons: Some tracks sound a little shrill...
Review: Paula Cole is an amazing talent, and an enduring artist. Her lyrics and instrumentation are very inspired, so when my son threatened to sell this CD from his collection, I gave him the purchase price and sent him away happy. I adore the song...

Pros: The pop tunes are great.
Cons: The angst tunes aren't up to snuff.
Review: This album has a split personality.
On one side, we have "Where Have All the Cowboys Gone?", a brilliant, catchy tune that alternates bandpass-filtered husky white female rap verses with wonderfully contrasting lush choruses and... |

Pros: Lyrics, Passion, Voice
Cons: Loses Edge, Musically Unimaginative
The Bottom Line: Don't buy as the appeal wanes quickly over time. Get it out of the library or borrow a friend's copy!
Review: I actually purchased "This Fire" a few years back after I had borrowed a friend's copy and listened to it for a full week. So, initially there was enough there to make me want it at one point. I had been quite excited about Paula Cole and "This Fire"...
