Good old fashioned values

I just finished reading this book for the second time, and just love it. Laura is now in her teenage years, and is making the transition from child to young lady. She expresses her thoughts wonderfully as she is forced to board with a hateful woman while she teaches school away from home. She is dedicated to earning money to help send her blind sister to college.
Mrs Wilder has a style of writing that just brings the story to life and you find yourself feeling the same emotions she must have felt. All those who have enjoyed the "Little House on the Prairie" series would love to hear the true tales of Mrs. Wilder's days.
This is especially good reading for young children. It promotes old fashioned morals, like generosity, modesty, and taking care of other's needs.
Surely everyone will rejoice when Laura recieves an engagement ring from the man she loves. Laura seems to be like a dear old friend. Her writing style is very simplistic, yet you are able to really feel the emotions she successfully portrays.
