This is the only CD I ever need
Pros:
Creeper hooks that set in deep after you listen a few times
Cons:
Can't stop listening to it
The Bottom Line:
If I could only listen to one CD for the rest of my life, it would be this one.

Author's Review
If I was stuck on that fabled desert island - this would be the one.
This CD is like being in the womb. As a matter of fact, I rocked my baby to sleep to it every night for almost a year.
The first time I listened to this CD I thought, what the hell is all this noise. Where is the melody? But the hooks were there and after I listened in awe after about the 3rd or 4th time, I couldn't get enough. There's melody, oh my god there's melody. It's a creeper.
It's so hard to name a favorite track on this one. Car seems to be the running favorite, but Big Dipper is another great. Doug seems to be writing from the viewpoint of a small child in awe throughout several points in the album. Then he wavers in and out of friends, lovers and acquantainces. The deepest track, Cleo, is a song about seeing an unborn baby on ultrasound for the first time. The lyrics, the beat and the gentle rythmic noise recreate the womb feeling. And who can forget "Twin Falls"? I grew up in Eastern Washington which is similar to NW Idaho. I love the line 'My mom's good, she got me out of Twin Falls Idaho, before I got too old, you know how that goes.'
This is one of the best albums of all time.
