Pros: Excellent historical story showing a glimpse of Puritan life.
Cons: none!
The Bottom Line: I highly recommend this book for any young person as an enjoyable way of understanding what daily life was probably like, to some extent, in the Puritan colonies.
Review: It is 1687. Katherine ("Kit") Tyler is 16 years old and is alone in the world. Her beloved grandfather has recently died and their home and property in Barbados have been sold. We meet Kit as she is on her way sailing (for months) to Wethersfield, ...

Cons: I truly believe there are none
The Bottom Line: One of the highlights of my childhood reading list! A must read whether you are 10 or 100.
Review: Im in the middle of reading a well-written but lengthy and depressing classic (more about that in a subsequent review), and after 200 pages, I needed a break. I randomly picked a book from my childrens books bookcase, hoping it would be something ...

Pros: shows how wrong prejudice is
Cons: none
Review: I thoroughly enjoyed this historical novel set back in the late 1700's when the Puritans were accusing women of being witches. Elizabeth George Spear, the author, weaves a wonderful tale full of excitement, romance, prejudice and loyalty.
