The Title is the Best Part

I bought this book because it looked so fascinating. The inside scoop on what undertaking is all about! Gross stories! Or ones with human interest. What the heck DOES an undertaker do with a corpse. I was sadly disappointed. Instead of the "behind the scenes" book I was expecting, Thomas Lynch delivers a moderately well written take on life, as viewed by someone who makes his livelihood from death. The irony can only take one so far. After that wears off, there is really nothing left. I wanted to like this book - I really did. But I couldn't. It would have made a good feature story in some literary magazine, but it didn't make it as a book.
