Product Review

Fantastic!

by   addh2o ,   Jul 11, 2001

Pros:  great illustrations, excellent for beginners

Cons:  the format could be smaller to fit in a daypack easier

The Bottom Line:  It is an excellent book. It's probably the one to own if you're going to only own one!

Overall Rating: 5/5 stars

Author's Review

This book is an excellent resource. This is the first book that I have come across which has several views of the birds (flying, perched, from below) and also seasonal changes in plumage coloring.

It is well organized into sections that help the reader move quickly from bird to bird.

It is an excellent comprehensive guide to birds that all birders of all skill and interest levels should definitely consider buying.

The only recommendation I would make for a future edition is to consider a smaller format so that it can be packed more easily into a small daypack.

It's probably the one to own if you're going to only own one!
