What was going through Kubricks mind?

The Bottom Line: If you haven't seen this yet, go see the film that sparked a whole generation of horror.
Review: Jack Nicholson has got the perfect face to play an evil character and so is well cast in one of the most successful horror films of all time. In true Kubrick fashion, this film is atmospheric and far from normal.

Overrated as hell, but still a good horror film

The Bottom Line: In the end, "The Shining" is a well-crafted film, but as a horror film, it takes way too long to develop.  Worth seeing for Nicholson's performance, though.
Review: As a younger film reviewer, I have missed a lot of classic horror films as they made their theatrical runs.  Instead, I am forced to catch many of them on video, years after all the hoopla and controversy have died down.  I didn't see "Psycho" until...
