The River King ? A fine example of Hoffman?s Magic

The Bottom Line: This book is a great example of the magic of Alice Hoffman's writing! If you like Hoffman, you'll love "The River King". If you've never read Hoffman - you should!

LOVE, DISILLUSION, TRAGEDY

Hoffman True to Trademark Mysticism

The Bottom Line: The River King, true to Hoffman's style, is eloquently written. The symbolism is layers and very poignant. However, the book does have disturbing themes of death and emotional pain.
Review: Alice Hoffman is most likely best know as the author of the book which was made into the movie "Practical Magic". If you have seen this film you will appreciate some of Hoffman's trademarks of mysticism and magic. However, you will also likely...

A Lovely Book with Undercurrents You'll Enjoy

Glum, repetitive but in a poetic way
