Author's Review
Ok, how many movies have you seen this summer that had two things, football, and lap dancers? Honestly, I doubt not one of you people could say yes. Anyway, I expected to go into the movie sit down, watch it, walk out disappointed. Well, I got news for you, that didn't happen! The movie was down right hilarious, I couldn't begin to say how many things were funny with this movie, the fights, the cheerleaders, who were not at all a bunch of strippers, ect...
So the movie is basically about a some professional football stars who are not aloud to play because they want too much money, so instead they find ex-convicts, ex-sumo wrestlers, COPs, and soccer stars to take their place. Now this seems like a pretty good combination to have on a football team, except some of them have never came close to a football in their life.
Keanu Reeves was a pro football star who lost the Sugar Bowl by 45 points a while back, now, the way I see it, these losers have no chance of coming close to catching the football, let alone winning a game, but that all changes with a little practice and the most important thing of all, heart.
Now, here's the movie, these "replacements" have four games left in the season and they have to win three so, they lose the first one, win the next two, and on the fourth game, Steve Falco ( MR. Reeves ) does not play and the real quarterback does. Now this not only upsets the players, but the same fans who booed them their first game! Now this is the most important game, of all because if they win, then they win it all! Ok, so this "pro" quarterback is supposedly worth 8 million bucks? I don't think so. This guy couldn't hit the broad side of a barn for Pete's sake. So of course during half time, the real pro shows up, and wins the game for them.
Now the reason I liked this movie so much was not for the lap dancers but for the movie as a whole. I think this was a very unrealistic idea for a movie and doubt this would ever happen in real life, but, that doesn't count in my book, but what does count was the story. The way the actors took to the part like it would be their last movie ever was astounding, now most all of you will disagree, but I'm not you, and your not me. So i definitely enjoyed this movie very much and was definitely worth my $7.75, which was ridiculous, but it was worth the laugh especially!
