Illustrious Lestat, Nourishing Alteration Fond of the World of Vampires

by   nicndere ,  Dec 2, 2004
Pros: Cinematography, Director, Acting, Lestat, Jesse, Character, Dialogue, Music, SFX, Costume Design, Aaliyah, Plot
Cons: None
The Bottom Line:

Aaliyah look as if stunning, Lestat’s sharp, unruly and principled, surprising and unbelievable.

Review: The Queen of the Damned - the very big Lestat, it is the wide-awake vampires thinking. (Different the other one)"I won’t want to be a vampire. I do not reflect that be true.” The dramatist since parable was histrionic. The ...

Queen of the Damned: A cool, spooky vampire movie that's worth a view!!!

by   sunflowa4 ,  Mar 2, 2002
Pros: Great cast, awesome story, well done acting, great soundtrack!
Cons: It ended!
The Bottom Line: A great movie with a gothic, spooky feel, cool plot and awesome music! Worth every penny to see it in theaters!
Review: I’ve already seen this movie twice and I’d be willing to see it more! It’s not just another average vampire movie. Queen of the Damned is based on Anne Rice’s Vampire Chronicles and is just a very cool and spooky movie. Oh and did I mention the AWESOME...

I'll be damned

by   dreaeuh ,  Feb 25, 2002
Pros: Good plot, music rocked, decent vampire genre
Cons: Slow at time, who were these actors?
The Bottom Line: A good movie, though slow at times. Unknown actors, minor CGI graphics, and a dull plot screw up the movie, though it did fit the vampire genre well.
Review: Walking into the theatre, waiting almost 30 minutes through stupid advertising, movies trailers I don't plan on watching (the summer is going to suck), and stepping in a puddle of spilled soda, and what do I get? A mediocre movie.

A few "who...

It tops my must see list

by   sporty6 ,  Dec 24, 2003
Pros: the music, Stuart Townsend as Lestat and the sensuality
Cons: I didn't know who the others Vamps were such as Armand in the film
The Bottom Line: I would recommend this film if you love Vampire movies and if you want to be entertained.
Review: This movie was damn good. I walked into the theater with high expectations and I was completely satisfied with what I saw. I loved the music. I love Jon Davis and just knowing that he was apart of the soundtrack made me want to the see the movie even...

Fang-tastic (sorry it's a bad joke!)

by   babygirluk ,  Oct 31, 2002
Pros: Very entertaining, stylish, just very enjoyable.
Cons: Special effects could have been better.
The Bottom Line: Not to everyone's taste but I and everyone else I know who've seen it thoroughly enjoyed it. Hip-hop/Anne Rice fans may be disappointed.
Review: Firstly I like to say that I am a huge Aaliyah fan (my username kinda gives that away already) but many Aaliyah fans might be disappointed with the film.
1.Although a main character she doesn't have much screen time.
2.Theres a lot of...

Don't Judge Too Harshly

by   vampchick1031 ,  Nov 8, 2002
Pros: Stuart Townsend is hot and he's a great actor. The whole cast is good.
Cons: It's innacurate to the book.
The Bottom Line: I recommend this to anyone. I love it. It's a vampire flick with an edge. Lestat has a fascination with Jesse. Not very true to the book, but great.
Review: Queen of the Damned was, I think, a pretty good movie. Sure it was a little different to the book. But, there is a reason fofr everything. You have to consider the audience's reaction, namely the people who haven't read the book. I've read all the...

For the love of eternity

by   sojournseeker ,  Oct 2, 2008
Pros: To see Aaliyah acting in compatability between good n evil, amazing !
Cons: Not enough of the really slow exhilerating ballads, some noise though.
The Bottom Line: To establish some understanding of a not well-understood concept imagination brings to life. I like the creative expression avenue Rice uses to captivate her audience, readers & viewers alike.
Review: Anne Rice's video version of "Queen of The Damned" starring the late great Hip Hop singer Aaliyah and Stuart Townsend, an Irish hottie that sizzles as LeStat de Lioncourt (a French nobleman turned to the lunar cycle and its lifestyle), directs ...

Gimme some Blood, Sucka

by   abhaille ,  Sep 4, 2002
Pros: Interesting and effective way to adapt two novels to screen.
Cons: BIG liberties taken with the author's storyline.
The Bottom Line: I enjoyed this and I didn't expect to. For "vampire" fans it's definitely worth a watch!!!
Review: I wanted to see this as soon as it came out. I've gobbled all of Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles and good or bad, I have loved them all. If I get attached to a series, I tolerate the excellent along with the mediocre if the story moves along.

"Michael Rymer's Film of Anne Rice's Queen of the Damned"

by   matt2050 ,  Feb 28, 2002
Pros: Aaliyah; flashy direction; music; f/x; Stuart Townsend
Cons: Eliminates far too much of Anne Rice's fascinating source material
The Bottom Line: Anne Rice gets butchered but good in the film adaptation of her novel "Queen of the Damned". See it for Aaliyah.
Review: Anne Rice has been writing bestsellers for more than twenty
years, beginning with her first groundbreaking novel, which
was "Interview with the Vampire", the first in her long
series of "Vampire Chronicles". Over the years, Rice has

Some may damn me but I loved Queen of the damned!

by   Tigeressts ,  Mar 14, 2002
Pros: wonderful actors and keeps you wanting more..
Cons: Akasha seen in 1/3 of the movie & WOW $8.75 to get into the movies!
The Bottom Line: Give it a try but not if your a hard core Anne Rice fan who will whine because it's not just like the book.
Review: Well where should I start.......while the movie is very different from the book I can understand why it would be.....I have learned when going to see a movie that is "based" on a novel don't go expecting to see what you read...hollywood has there own...
