Behold the Man: The Passion of the Christ

by   George_Chabot , top reviewer in Movies at Epinions.com ,  Feb 25, 2004
Pros: Absolutely stunning in all respects, Direction, Acting, Cinematograpy, Special Effects, Music. Brilliant.
Cons: A little inaccessible to those not familiar with the life of Christ.
The Bottom Line: Stunning, profound, and thought-provoking depiction of Christ's final hours on Earth. Please see The Passion of the Christ for your own sake.
Review: Behold the Man: The Passion of the Christ He was despised and rejected by men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief; and as one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he has borne our griefs ...

The Passion of The Christ: Mel Gibson's Cross to Bear, his Reason to Live

by   flamepillar , top reviewer in Movies at Epinions.com ,  Feb 25, 2004
Pros: Love, hate, ignorance, despair, agony, betrayal, temptation, guilt, truth.
Cons: Just ask Jesus.
The Bottom Line: The Passion of the Christ is the best movie I'll never see again.
Review: So, let's talk about The Passion of the Christ, shall we? A lot of movies out there lately have been based on true stories. Now whether or not this is a true story, it's quite beyond my power to say. But after watching it, part of me sure ...

A TRULY MOVING EXPERIENCE

by   mike.holmes ,  Feb 25, 2004
Pros: The acting, the directing, the music, the cinematography
Cons: None
The Bottom Line: This movie is truly a spiritual experience.
Review: So, was the movie as good as the hype I've been hearing? Or, was it a vehicle for anti-Semitic neo-Nazis as some have claimed? My quick answers to these questions are "yes" and "no" respectively. My best friend and I bought tickets to the movie last ...

Jesus Was Hard Core

by   updateghost , top reviewer in Movies at Epinions.com ,  Feb 27, 2004
Pros: Direction; cinematography, performances.
Cons: Some unsure moments.
The Bottom Line: A powerful film about the last twelve hours of Jesus' life.
Review: The Passion of the Christ has more of a likelihood to turn you into a miser than any film you will see this year, or perhaps for the rest of your life. I saw it Wednesday night (this is Friday morning), and while my mood is starting to perk up, I ...

The Passion Of The Christ

by   mcmaster ,  Dec 18, 2004
Pros: The most realistic biblical film that I have ever seen.
Cons: The film only covers the last day of Christ.
The Bottom Line: Everyone should see this film once.
Review: I made it home for Christmas! While sitting here reading over my journals from Iraq, I came across an interesting entry from a day in Iraq, April 20th, 2004. Today was a fairly uneventful day. The camp came under mortar fire this afternoon, this ...

THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST: The Bravest “Braveheart” of them all?

by   Ed.Williamson , top reviewer in Movies at Epinions.com ,  Feb 25, 2004
Pros: Overwhelming; a great movie.
Cons: Painful to absorb.
The Bottom Line: This movie is suitable for a certain kind of person, but the very young and the very old should probably not experience it.
Review: Wow, what a phenomenon Mel Gibson’s movie “The Passion Of The Christ” has stirred up here in February of 2004. God may be looking down from the windows of heaven and shaking his head in wonder at all the thoughts and words about ...

The Passion rings true!

by   PaySo ,  Feb 27, 2004
Pros: The Passion of the Christ is destined to become a Lenten Season movie classic.
Cons: None for me!
The Bottom Line: I recommend you watch The Passion of the Christ and form your own opinion, and as I say...go with an open mind, because it will make you think!
Review: The Passion of the Christ opened yesterday, and my anxiety for this movie was paid off. Prior to my viewing, I read and watched a lot of professional and non-professional reviews, both pro and con, they are editorials, and as such; personal ...

Passion Of The Christ, Summed Up in One Word .. OUCH!

by   scapp70 ,  Jan 29, 2005
Pros: Certain Bible verses have become clearer for me. James Caviezel was very powerful and moving.
Cons: Some of the torture scenes are unwatchable, too horrific. James Caviezal's fake eye color.
The Bottom Line: It's good, that's it
Review: I suppose it's a bit redundant to compose a review on this movie. Such interest and controversy surrounded this movie months before its release even. Reviews and opinions from opposers to this film had all written their hateful reviews before even ...

A Cathedral in Film

by   forumpersona ,  Jan 28, 2004
Pros: A brilliant achievement, artistically thoughtful and faithful to the Biblical text.
Cons: Brutally violent. Inappropriate for children and probably disturbing for sensitive adults.
The Bottom Line: The finest religious film ever made. It will be the most important film of 2004--perhaps one of the most important films in history. Could start a cultural phenomenon.
Review: Director – Mel Gibson Production Company – Icon Productions and Marquis Film Producers – Mel Gibson and Bruce Davey Screenwriters – Mel Gibson and Benedict Fitzgerald (Wise Blood, In Cold Blood, Heart of Darkness) Cinematographer – Caleb Deschanel ...

Excellent, But I'm Not As Passionate As I Thought

by   brookelorren ,  Mar 1, 2004
Pros: Realistic, accurately portrays the spirit of the Biblical story.
Cons: Some omissions and errors in story.
The Bottom Line: Go see it! Best Jesus movie out there!
Review: A year ago, when I heard that Mel Gibson was going to make a movie about Jesus and it was going to be in Aramaic and Latin, I thought he was off his rocker. Who would want to see a movie like that? Fast forward to February, 2004, and you can't go ...
