Cookin' With Martha |
|||
|
Pros: It's Martha by Martha
Cons: It's Martha by Martha
The Bottom Line: This is a re-write and re-post of a review I deleted during the famous EBD protest.
Review: I love Martha's TV program and watch through the week when it?s on (here) at 4 p.m. It?s a nice time for me to take a break after typing my fingers off. I can heat up a bowl of soup in the microwave (a new toy for me) and just kick back and be amazed or...

Pros: Creative recipes for when company comes and wonderful yummies for the family, too.
Cons: Not everyone has a 9-burner stove and a double oven.
The Bottom Line: Everything's explained in great detail, so most of the recipes are fool-proof. A wonderful book that you'll use time and time again.
Review: It's the night before a party for 50 people, and I'm standing in my kitchen merrily stuffing snow peas with herbed cream cheese. And I'm actually having a good time doing it!
If you only want to purchase one cookbook that you can use for any... |

Pros: Delicious recipes for everyday
Cons: Some proportions in recipes seem off
The Bottom Line: Appetizers, salads, soups, chicken, desserts...I turn to this book for everything. I would buy it for anyone with a home.
Review: This is the first cookbook that I grab when I'm ready to cook a meal. Maybe it's because I live in California, but I disagree with the other reviewers that the ingredients are hard to find. I am able to get the ingredients in my local grocery store and...

Pros: a hefty volume - overflowing with recipes
Cons: not your "every day" kind of recipes
Review: I am a Martha fan. I make no apologies for it. Don't get me wrong, I don't live Martha's lifestyle - the only staff in my house is a walking stick a guy at work gave me. No one is whipping up an amazing dinner for me after changing my bed linens with...

Pros: Well organized and thorough
Cons: Not every recipe is a winner
Review: I'll admit it. I am a Martha Stewart fan. I watch her show almost religiously and I love her new television studio set. I've even been to her web site. I bought her cook book as an addition to my pretty well rounded kitchen library. I've had the book for...

Pros: good cookbook
Cons: some dishes are above average
Review: I think Martha Stewarts cookbook is a well written book with just the right amount of advice and instructions. Her recipes are a little to fancy for the average person, but if you are in to trying new things then this book is for you. I enjoy all of the...

Pros: A Good Book to Inspire, Madeleines on pg. 550 are Divine
Cons: Reads like a How-To in Snobbery
Review: I had to rummage through the basement in the land of orphaned books if that gives you a hint...
Martha Stewart. I idolized this woman before I had children. I used to have a reminder set on my watch so I wouldn't miss an episode of her... |

Pros: Unique recipes for holidays and formal gatherings
Cons: Regardless of what Martha says..this is not an "Every Day" cookbook
Review: With todays busy work schedules and raising families, most woman(and men)don't have time to worry about cooking. There are cookbooks that offer fast recipes, microwave recipes, no-cook, recipes and many others. Martha Stewarts Cookbook is in a class all...

Pros: Great twists on everyday recipes
Cons: Not you basic cookbook
Review: I love Martha Stewart, my friends tease me and say I'm just like her, but this book can be called anything but basic. When I got it I was so excited I thought this is a great idea. But when I got into reality I was very disappointed.

Pros: Nice book, high class cooking
Cons: Too costly and advanced for normal folks
Review: As a family cook, I have to admit to trying practically every cookbook I've ever gotten my hands on, including recipes on boxes, in newspapers, or in magazines. I used to frantically write them off the television, as well, including those of Martha...
