The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers - Frodo's Journey Continues

by   dragonfire88 , top reviewer in Movies at Epinions.com ,  Dec 31, 2002
Pros: Everything
Cons: None for me. Some people may think that the movie is too long.
The Bottom Line: The Two Towers was a wonderful, amazing movie. People who liked The Fellowship of the Ring should also like this one.
Review: Every so often I would hear something about The Lord of the Rings books, but I never read them or knew what they were about. It wasn't until I saw a preview for T he Fellowship of the Ring in the fall of 2001 ...

A new power arises. Its victory is at hand. Its name is The Two Towers.

by   Greatpilgrim ,  Dec 20, 2002
Pros: the wait is over and the magic continues
Cons: I suppose it couldn’t really be perfect
The Bottom Line: Well, you knew I’d be in awe, didn’t you?
Review: This is the kind of movie that you don’t know where to start with.

How can a person even begin to describe all the facets of a movie that has been anticipated for a year and totally lives up to expectations? It’s hard to get...

LOTR: The Two Towers: excellent bridge and set up for the ending.

by   telynor , top reviewer in Movies at Epinions.com ,  Jan 1, 2003
Pros: Once again excellent production values, and three hours of movie action.
Cons: The story gets choppy in sections, and a few consistancy problems.
The Bottom Line: Perhaps not as light or flashy as the first, this is still a great film, especially for those who like epic fantasy. Worth the price to see in the theatres.
Review: It would be fair to say that this has been one of the most anticipated films of 2002, with a built-in fan base that was slavering to get in line for the film treatment of Tolkein's epic saga. As with the first one, I was ready to be disappointed, knowing...

'The Two Towers' Continues Movie Magic.

by   Vormancian , lead in Movies at Epinions.com ,  Dec 29, 2002
Pros: Too many. Continues at the same level as the first.
Cons: A few. Theoden. Faramir is supposed to contrast Boromir.
The Bottom Line: With the slight reservation that I haven't seen absolutely everything yet, the best movie of the year.
Review:

As I walked out of the theater after seeing ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers’, a woman of approximately fifty years was standing in the lobby talking to (I must assume) her husband. What I could catch of the conversation as I...

Something Good to Hold Onto in the Darkest Times

by   JediKermit , top reviewer in Movies at Epinions.com ,  May 11, 2004
Pros: Story, direction, acting, set design...much better than the first film.
Cons: If a movie pushing four hours is too long for you...
The Bottom Line: It took me more than a year to read the book...the movie improves upon the original.
Review: After seeing the darkness of the first Lord of the Rings movie, my wife refused to see the second. She doesn’t like dark movies, and The Two Towers is undeniably darker than the Fellowship of the Ring…but I think she would have liked the movie. Even ...

The Two Towers: Frodo's Journey Continues

by   lambchops ,  Dec 18, 2002
Pros: Graphics, cinematography, direction, story...umm....pretty much everything!
Cons: Unnecessary humor.
The Bottom Line: A must see. On the big screen. Now.
Review: Viewers go into movies with certain expectations. They expect to be entertained, thrilled, and caught up emotionally. They want good acting, adequate cinematography, and an enthralling soundtrack. And fortunately for viewers of Lord of the Rings:...

The World Is Changed; I Can Feel It In The Water..

by   Cartman_2k ,  Jan 18, 2003
Pros: Pretty much everything
Cons: Nothing worth mentioning
The Bottom Line: Haven't seen Lord of the Rings: Two Towers yet? See this epic masterpiece in theaters while you can.
Review: Walking out of the theater after seeing this movie was so weird for me. I’ve rarely seen a movie that can make me speechless and reflect so much over it, as Lord of the Rings: Two Towers did. Fellowship of The Ring was a great movie, no...

The Definitive Two Towers Review by Panguitch

by   panguitch , top reviewer in Movies at Epinions.com ,  Dec 23, 2002
Pros: Lots of action. Jumps right in. Amazing effects. Gollum. Jackson. Rohirrim.
Cons: They’ve indulged themselves a couple times when they should have restrained.
The Bottom Line: The second part of the greatest story ever told.
Review: I’ve got a lot to say about this movie, but I’m going to try and encapsulate it all in one definitive review. I’ll cover the film as a film, the film as a sequel, the film as an adaptation of Tolkien’s book, and also take a look forward ...

those tricksey hobbitses

by   hollynz ,  Dec 21, 2002
Pros: yes
Cons: no
The Bottom Line: See the Fellowship first.
Review: The much anticipated day arrived when The Two Towers opened for general release in New Zealand, it's always tough being behind the times as you have heard all the critics have there say, read all the reviews and still tried to keep an open mind. I wasn't...
