Yard for Yard

Date of Review:  Apr 24, 2007
The Bottom Line: Recommended
Review: "The Longest Yard," originally made in 1974 staring Burt Reynolds, told a story of an ex-pro football player who goes to jail for evading police, ditching his girlfriend's car in the bay, and assaulting two police officers. Reynolds' character, Paul...

A suprisingly good update on the classic original.

Date of Review:  May 27, 2005
The Bottom Line: A entertaining diversion for Summer Movie goers.
Review: Continuing the current trend of Remakes, Adam Sandler's Happy Madison production company set their sites on remaking the classic prison football film "The Longest Yard" and like most projects that Sandler puts his Midas touch upon, this to has some...

The Longest Yard - Updated

Date of Review:  May 28, 2005
The Bottom Line: Great action and pretty funny.
Review: Well it must be officially summer for the movies. Prequels (Batman and Star Wars), Sequels and re-makes (The Longest Yard and War of the Worlds) are all the buzz.

'The Longest Yard' is a remake of the 1974 classic, which stared Burt...

THE LONGEST YARD--THE WATERBOY FUMBLES A CLASSIC

Date of Review:  Jun 2, 2005
The Bottom Line: Adam Sandler is certainly no Burt Reynolds in THE LONGEST YARD, a limp retelling of an anti-authority sports classic
Review: You wanna see a really good movie? Check out "The Longest Yard." The ORIGINAL. This totally irrelevant update is like a karaoke version of the 1974 anti-authority classic--synthetic but funny in places, with dialogue and sequences faithfully...

WWE takes on the NFL!!

Date of Review:  Dec 10, 2007
The Bottom Line: A remake of the 1974 classic starring Burt Reynolds. The movie has a Adam Sandler brand marked all over it!!
Review: Introduction
I have always been a fan of Adam Sandler brand of comedy. I have quite liked to see most of his movies. So when I came to know that he had done a movie with WWE superstars in that, I was wondering what a comedian has to do with WWE...

"The Longest Yard" Maybe Unrealistic, but is a Huge Comedic relief!!

Date of Review:  Jan 20, 2006
The Bottom Line: An awesome film for older teens and adults and has some language and ethnic humor so if that?s not alright with you beware.
Review: WARNING: My review includes plot details so you've been warned…

Isn't nearly as good as the oringal "Longest Yard"

Date of Review:  Sep 5, 2005
The Bottom Line: I would recommend seeing it when you have some spare time, but I wouldn't be in a rush to see it. I can't recommend buying it without seeing it first.
Review: This just isn't a very good movie. You expect comedies to be funny, but this remake of the Longest Yard wasn't at all, it had it's funny parts, but not nearly enough to consider it a good funny comedy movie.

The Longest Yard is about a...

DUI's and prison brutality didn't make me laugh at The Longest Yard

Date of Review:  Sep 27, 2007
The Bottom Line: Watch the original instead. This remake sucks.
Review: Like most remakes, Adam Sandler's take on The Longest Yard is nowhere near as good as the original 1974 movie which starred Burt Reynolds. Despite poor reviews, this movie was a pretty big hit when it showed in theaters in 2005. At least the DVD has...

The Longest Turd

Date of Review:  Jun 8, 2005
The Bottom Line: It just wasn't funny to me, and it doesn't take much to make me laugh.
Review: Adam Sandler plays an ex-NFL football player who was accused in the past of shaving points off a game, accusations which ruined his career. In the opening scene, he pulls a stunt which sends him to the State Pen in Texas where we meet James...

The Longest Yawn....er, I Mean Longest Yard...

Date of Review:  Jan 17, 2008
The Bottom Line: I would not recommend the Longest Yard. The poor writing, weak plot and predictability make this movie a snoozer.
Review: Note: This review will reveal no more than minor details regarding the plot. That is, minor details regarding what plot exists in this movie...which isn't much.

I first took my son to see this movie when it was playing at the movie...
