Steve Martin's genius! Laughs and laughs

The Jerk is simply Steve Martin at his best. No matter how many times I watch this film I am always laughing. This is one of the best comedies ever! There are so many great scenes in this film it seems everyone who has seen it has different favorites.

The film is about a guy named Navin Johnson, played by Steve Martin. Navin is adopted and grow up in the south. One of my favorite scences is when he h=is still with his family and it’s his birthday. His family doesn’t have much to give, but each gift is from the heart. It is a very sweet scene.

Navin finally goes out into the world on his own, finding his way to Jackie Mason’s character, Harry, who gives him a job. Navin quickly strikes it rich with an invention and his life is changed.

I don’t want to give away too much of the story, but Steve Martin plays off of a variety of different characters in different settings through out the film, masterfully producing laughter the whole time.

The Jerk is a movie that you will remember and want to watch over and over again through out the years. Steve Martin is just so amazing in this film, you can really see Steve’s comedic talent and see why this film launched his career.
