A Comedy Classic

When I first saw "The Jerk" a few years ago, I constantly found myself laughing uncontrollably. I've probably seen it at least twenty times since then and it never seems to get old. I'm always insisting that my friends watch it and they always seem to get a kick out of it as well. The comedy is simple and silly enough to make anyone laugh while there's enough wit to keep it from being mindless stupidity.

Steve Martin is great in the role of Navin R. Johnson. Navin's a white boy raised by a family of black sharecroppers. After discovering that he's not their natural born child, he leaves home to find his calling in life. During his journey, he is employed at various jobs, discovers his "special purpose," finds love, and becomes a rich inventor. This is where he realizes the rich and famous lifestyle isn't all it's cracked up to be. Ultimately though, Navin finds happiness in the humblest of places. The characters are fantastic, Navin's antics will have you laughing hysterically, and you might just find yourself quoting a few of the many great lines.

The Jerk has yet to be topped as my favorite movie. It even remains funny after multiple viewings. Anybody can get a kick out of this classic.
