Author's Review
I purchase every Garth Brooks album/CD I find. "The Hits" is one of the first Garth Brooks albums I purchased. In his music I find motivation, thrill, experience, and feeling. Watching him perform live is a wonderful experience. He has a way of capturing his audience, sometimes making you smile and cry at the same time. He has this amazing energy which is contagious. Garth Brooks will always be one of my favorite performers. I never tire of listening to his songs over and over. Listen while at home cleaning the house, with friends, or driving in the car. "The Hits" is a must own for all Garth Brooks fans.

Tracks from "The Hits" along with what I like about each one:
Ain't Going Down ('Til the Sun Comes Up) - this song uplifts my mood making me want to get things done.
Friends in Low Places - best selling single, I really enjoy singing along.
Callin' Baton Rouge - another song that I enjoy singing along with, upbeat.
The River - excellent lyrics, beautiful song. This is one of my favorite Garth Brook songs.
Much Too Young (To Feel This Damn Old) - really great song. Great lyrics.
The Thunder Rolls - this song tells a story, where a woman is waiting for her man to come home, he's been out cheating on her. 3rd verse to this song implies she is going to shoot him "...Cause tonight will be the last time
She'll wonder where he's been"
American Honky-Tonk Bar Association - excellent country song, truly wonderful lyrics.
If Tomorrow Never Comes - a love song, and Garth Brooks is a true professional at writing and delivering love songs. This is one of my favorites.
Unanswered Prayers - emotional and well done. Garth has this way of touching my real life experiences with his songs, and this one does just that.
Standing Outside The Fire - upbeat and fun. This song delivers a great message. A good sing along.
Rodeo - Garth's voice on this song is excellent. I adore this song, play it all the time. A story unfolds on this one about a cowboy who must have his rodeo. This is one of my favorites.
What She's Doing Now - love song, about an ex. I heard Garth say in an interview that after he wrote this song he found out his ex had moved to Boulder! He wrote that in the lyrics on this one, amazing he didn't know but turned out he was correct!
We Shall Be Free - this song makes you want to hold hands with people and sing along. A strong song full of hope and freedom. This song is good for the world we live in.
Papa Loved Mama - story about a truckers wife, to sum it up: she cheated on him, she ends up in the graveyard while he ends up in jail. Great lyrics!
Shameless - a love song at its best. Garth, you are just so good! A favorite of mine.
Two of a Kind, Workin' on a Full House - adorable song here. Excellent beat, I enjoy singing along on this one.
That Summer - excellent lyrics. A boy enticed by a woman, and how the experience stays with him throughout his life. Very well done song.
The Dance - this is my all time favorite Garth Brooks song. It has such excellent piano, I learned to play it myself. It was written by Tony Arata, and Garth delivers it perfectly. I've dropped many a tear over this song, it's beautiful.
