Rhyming feet

I am a huge fan of Dr Seuss. My parents read to me his books, and later I read them myself when I was learning to read. I have really enjoyed reading them to my son and guess what? he enjoys them too! I especially enjoy reading him The Foot Book.

The Foot Book is a good choice for a baby's first Dr. Seuss book. It is shorter than most Seuss books and oh so much fun to read! The text is simple and has that characteristic rhyming that Dr. Seuss is known for.

The book starts with this refrain, and repeats it later. The illustrations show the feet so it could be helpful later on when my son learns directions. It also shows opposites - night and day, wet and dry. It also shows different colors and sizes of feet and uses spatial relations - up and over, in and on - so he's learning and having fun at the same time. What a great concept!

I recommend this and all Seuss books very highly!!
