Soothie Newborn Pacifier -The Only Binky My Child Would Use

We got this pacifier at the hospital when my second child was born. My first one never took a pacifier, even though we tried more than 10 different shapes, styles and brands. She ended up sucking her thumb until she was two and a half, so I was really hoping that our second child would prefer to take a pacifier. I figured it would be easier to take a pacifier away than a thumb.

When we were given this pacifier at the hospital, I thought: what a bunch of junk. For all the money they are charging us, they could have come up with something cuter. I gave it to him just because there was nothing else available at the time. To my surprise he took it and didn't spit it out. After the pacifier calmed him down a few more times, it didn't look all that ugly anymore.

The description says that it is sized and shaped for baby's developing mouth. I am not an expert, so I have no idea how baby's mouth is shaped and how exactly it is developing, but it is irrelevant for me. It was the only pacifier that my son took. Although 1 and a half months later he started sucking his thumb and didn't want anything to do with his pacifier. But I think it might be in his genes and the First Years Soothie is not the one to blame.
