Fuzzy Wuzzy was a gate

We purchased this gate because I believe dogs and babies don't mix. I did not want my little one poking at the dogs through the gate so we purchased this little plastic number.

The problem is there are two panes of plastic and it collects hair and yuck between them. I must advise you that I am far from a clean freak but this gate gets nasty with two hairy dogs around it.

The second problem was while in a rush I either hyper extended the top handle a bit, or I forced it closed when it was not lined up. Who can remember. Either way things did not line up and I popped off some of the plastic inner workings. I am not a HeMan and personally feel (although my husband disagrees) that the gate should have withstood the strain. He rigged it back up with some wire and while, disgusting to look at, it still functions.

The third issue, although this may depend on your perspective, is that my mother in law, who visits 2-3 times a year, cannot operate the handle. In her defense it does take some getting used to: sliding a tab, lifting the lever and making sure it all lines up right when closing it. It's not a gate you are going to really move in and out of quickly (thus the incident in problem 2).

A big pro is my three year old has yet to figure out how to open it and cannot get a toe hold to climb it.
