Can YOU Pass the Acid Test?
Date of Review: Feb 10, 2005
Can YOU Pass the Acid Test? Written in jarringly poor English, The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test perfectly recollects on an era in which most of the participants are a bit hazy on the details. This stunning novel depicts more than just the Acid Scene, rather, the whole ideal - communal living, the Beat generation, and an outlaw lifestyle.
The novel discusses one Ken Kesey, and the adventures of the Merry Pranksters as they trek across America on "the bus" - a school bus with a designation sign of "Furthur." To say more would reveal too much about the novel, however I will say that I was enthralled in the plight of the Merry Pranksters as they sought to live life on their own terms, to live their own movie, truly out front and in love with each other.
