Miles Davis Bitches Brew is Quite the Stew

by   shopaholic_man ,  Aug 10, 2007
Pros: WOW
Cons: You may not recognize Miles in Bitches Brew!
The Bottom Line: This album is incredible.
Review: How can I describe Miles Davis Bitches Brew? It sure isn't traditional Miles Davis, I can tell you that! (and forgive me oh epiword filter, but that is the name that Miles gave to this album) Imagine if you will taking a hallucinogenic drug. I ...

The birth of bands, and jazz/rock fusion - Miles best work

by   deaser26 ,  Aug 12, 2004
Pros: Amazing work, great songs, fine solos, nice flow
Cons: not a thing
The Bottom Line: This is one of the truly birth right albums - a huge set of music, and truly genius at work.
Review: He was known as the Dark Prince Was Miles the anti-Christ? Or was he just a swinging, experimental hedonist-man who did not readily suffer fools? I think that he got sick of people and labels. If you read some of Mile’s quotes, he ...

Thank you Miles !

by   mistermeaner ,  Mar 27, 2003
Pros: It is the greatest gift to modern music.
Cons: It's hard to understand if you don't have an open mind.
The Bottom Line: Listen closely between the lines and you will see & hear just why this is the most influential jazz/fusion record ever made.
Review: It is easy to agree that in the year 1969, every style of music was inventively being written and performed with a vast amount of freshness and originality. Salient expression was everywhere, in Motown, Rock, Jazz, Soul and Blues. But not only in...

Way More Than Kind Of Cool Funky Brilliant

by   pach1908 ,  Jan 9, 2002
Pros: Only a separate universe has enough space to list all the pros
Cons: Sonic spaces awaken fierce desire to get stoned. Some people actually don't own this?! Dudes!!
The Bottom Line: tribal, primitive, organic, will unfuse your contracted psyche.
Review: A brief rant: it truly bites on this site when epinions.com can correctly spell the name of this album and have it as a link, yet I cannot correctly spell the name of the title song in the body of my review, instead having to come across like an amateur...

Miles Davis does it again!

by   mahafusion ,  Mar 29, 2000
Pros: Great songs, great solos, great everything
Cons: A bit too wild the first few times, but you'll get used to it
Review: Wow... I don't even know where to begin with this box set. When the original Bitches Brew was released in 1970, Miles changed jazz forever. He ushered in a new style of jazz, fusing jazz and rock. This new music was appropriately dubbed,...

Bitches Brew boxed set

by   dinot ,  Oct 26, 1999
Pros: Definitive music
Cons: Pricey (but worth it!)
Review: The album that brought Miles Davis, one of the greatest jazz musicians of his era, into the "rock" world. It sold more than 500,000 copies and infuriated jazz purists the world over. This lavishly-designed 4 CD set brings together all of the...
