A Child Outwits the Mafia

Date of Review:  Jun 16, 2001
The Bottom Line: If you like suspense stories involving children and the mafia, then you will probably love this book!
Review: This is the first Grisham novel I have ever read and it won't be the last! I never thought that I would ever enjoy a mystery/suspense book. However, after watching the movie, I was compelled to read this book. Now, I plan to read Grisham's other...

You're Gonna Love Reggie Love

Date of Review:  Feb 16, 2000
Review: This is a great premise with a couple of minor flaws. In this tale, an eleven-year-old witnesses a suicide and hears a death bed confession as he watches the mob lawyer die. Now this kid just has to tell the Louisiana police what he knows and then...

The Boy Who Knew To Much & The Book I Couldn't Put Down

Date of Review:  Mar 20, 2000
Review: I have to admit that I'm not a big reader. Sure, I pick up the occasional paperback every now and then, but I usually lose them before I finish reading them.. I guess I'm just to busy.

A friend of mine read this book and couldn't stop...

Among Grisham's Best

Date of Review:  Apr 20, 2002
The Bottom Line: Read it today and you will not be disappointed.
Review: I have read most of Grisham's books and 'The Client' rates right up there with his best works (including 'The Firm', 'A Time to Kill', and 'The Rainmaker').

Reggie Love and Mark Sway are two of the greatest characters that he has...

Needs more thriller, less filler.

Date of Review:  Jun 25, 2002
The Bottom Line: Pick up The Client and you won't put it down. It's that simple.
Review: Plot:
A mob tough guy (Barry the Blade Muldanno) murders a very important senator. His lawyer kills himself and two boys witness it. One goes into shock and is hospitalized; the other learns secrets about the murder. The FBI wants those...

my favorite - and I wait eagerly for the "next" Grisham

Date of Review:  Jun 11, 2001
The Bottom Line: Grisham's finest, in my opinion, worth a 3rd and 4th read, and even a 5th!
Review: I have read (and re-read) all the Grisham books, sometimes thinking I wish I could call John Grisham, and say "Hurry up, will you? I finished that one in one day!" - Maybe I should wait to buy them, so that I will finish closer to the time that the...

Child Proposes, Lawyer Disposes

Date of Review:  Sep 29, 2001
The Bottom Line: Actually my rating would be 3 and a half. A good timepass, pop-corn munching novel.
Review: Preface
John Grisham has excelled in potraying the emotions of a child's mind in this novel. The novel begins at a very brisk pace and as the previous review says seems to loose some pace and stutters to a decent end.

The Story

The Client - John Grisham

Date of Review:  Sep 20, 2001
The Bottom Line: Definitely a book worth reading
Review: I don't usually read books on crime, but I must admit, this one had my attention clamped in a vise for a few multi-hour sessions. Here is a brief synopsis of the novel.
It begins with mafia head, Barry "The Blade" Muldano's attorney, attempting...

The good, The bad, The Mafia

Date of Review:  Dec 9, 2003
Review: The Client is about a boy who knows too much, and the mafia doesn't like it. I really enjoyed reading The Client, however, Grisham seemed to drag out some scenarios. Such as when Mark was in court and he wouldn't talk, and also the ending which I...

The Child, the Client

Date of Review:  May 14, 2000

This is the story of a boy and his brother who stumble onto a...
