Spellbinding!

Dean Koontz is one of my favorite authors, however for most of his books I can say that one is pretty much like the next. The way that the story begins, builds and ends are pretty similar. However, with "The Bad Place"
I didn't feel that way at all. There are some very distinct story lines going on in the book, and each one of them keeps you on your toes. The story of the man and his creepy twin sisters really had me wondering all the way through the end, which completely led to the "can't put down" quality of the book". As for the main character you feel such a complex grouping of emotions for him. You wonder if perhaps the whole thing is fabricated, you worry endlessly that if it isn't fabricated what will become of him and you are repulsed by some of the things that he finds along the way.

"The Bad Place" is a thrilling book that I have read more than once. I highly recommend this book to anyone that likes a mystery/thriller, because this book fits perfectly into both categories!

I also recommend "Door to December" and "Servants of Twilight" by Dean Koontz. I do not recommend "Shadows".
