I'd pass on this one.

Funny thing about Kootnz, he can paint people, places and events with words that leaves the reader with concise mental images of what is happening within the pages. But the dialog usually ends up taking a beating between all the fireworks. Winter Moon had a little of it, but Bad Place was just loaded with dialog that no mortal man would utter. Sentences so awkward that at some point you just tell yourself "Scan for the topic sentence and skip to the next paragraph".

And the ending of this book was almost paint-by-numbers. The good people survive , the bad guy dies, as do most of the supporting characters. And the ending happens so fast that you wonder why he bothered making such a long, convoluted story. Classic Koontz. I'd pass on this one unless you have some free time.
