The Sims game is a ton of fun and highly addictive! Combine the two and you have a great game. There is COMPLETE CUSTOMIZATION and you can choose and customize just about anything you feel the need to in this game.
Besides great graphics, sound, and gameplay, the Sims also has a ton of customization. When choosing your Sim you get to choose their gender, clothes, looks, name, personality traits, and even their Zodiac sign! After that you need to build their house, where you have no limitations. You get to choose the house's wallpaper, size, roof, decorations, furniture, and everything else needed for a house, and you just better hope your Sim likes it. COMPETE CUSTOMIZATION!
The graphics are great, and extreme detail has been added to the decorations, furniture, wallpaper, and accessories that you can put in your Sim's house. In paintings you can actually see the picture and on TVs there are scenes so that it isn't a blank screen that are also detailed enoguh to be seen without close inspection. The character designs are very good, and you can even choose things like what they can wear, what their hair is like, if they have glasses, necklaces, beards, goatees, etc. The clothes have been animated and created in great color and look very realistic. The characters look pretty real and you can choose from a wide range of styles for them. The game doesn't slow down too often, but when it does, it can be a pain. Overall, the graphics are very good for this type of game.
The sound effects are excellent and sound extremely realistic. There are a wide range of them, too, and even if you character washes his/her hands the sound of water pouring from the sink and bubbling from the soap start up (AWESOME, BABY, AWESOME!). The music will fade out every once in a while, but, other than that, it's good. The songs are usually slow and have instruments like the piano and violin in them. It's the perfect set of songs for this game, though. Overall, the sound is excellent.
The gameplay is great because even if you have a successful Sim family and a large house and all that...stuff, you can still do extra things like get new jobs, redecorate, rearrange things, start a NEW Sim family, have a child (or another one), and etc. And, if you but the Sims Livin' Large expansion set, heck, you won't come out of that computer room for months.
Control for the Sims game is simple and easy to learn. It's basically just point-and-click to start up the menus and choose what you want to buy and do. After a little while of playing you'll be a pro.
Overall, The Sims is an awesome game, and it shouldn't be missed by anyone that liked previous Sim games (SimCity, SimTown, etc.), ESPECIALLY those who liked the previous games but wanted to have more customization and to have more to do with the actual people.
