Lil' Wheezy Sez Buy This, Pleezey....N I Agreeeeee

by   purduedude2008 ,  Jun 27, 2004
Pros: Manny Fresh and Baby; stellar production; unique attack, and style; NO songs disappoint at all
Cons: "Go DJ" is a pathetic plug for Manny Fresh, but that's it. Seriously.
The Bottom Line: Lil' Wayne shows that he isn't a molded and overproduced rapper with one hit song, he makes a whole CD filled with hit songs. Like rap? GET THIS.
Review: The people that you come up with tend to do you well, and you tend to get their back when they're down, too. It's in this way that Lil' Wayne has Cash Money back on the map with the recently released and promoted The Carter. Lil' Wayne hails from ...

Tha Carter: Lil' Wayne for King of the South!

by   bballer11 ,  Mar 27, 2006
Pros: Lil' Wayne has great flow, one of the best lyricists in the game, Mannie Fresh
Cons: your skip button will feel left out
The Bottom Line: This is a great album by a great rapper. I highly recommend this album and the sequel, Tha Carter II.
Review: This album has top seller written all over it. Lil’ Wayne and Mannie Fresh, how can you go wrong? Apparently, you can’t. This album was well produced with no fast forward tracks on it. Lil’ Wayne’s style is very unique and he has smooth flow the whole ...

Lil' Weezyana: Wayne's World

by   xicripz ,  Oct 7, 2008
Pros: Great beats. Consistent.
Cons: Rhyme sare weak at times
The Bottom Line: Lil' Wayne's fourth album
Review: Released in 2004, "Tha Carter" is the first of what is now a triolgy of album releases by Lil' Wayne, from which came his mainstream success "Tha Carter III" from earlier on in the year. It is his fourth solo release and has him coming with the first of ...

No Vocoders or Mentioning of Cough Syrup? This is Lil Wayne, Right?

by   cashclay ,  Jul 8, 2009
Pros: Very nicely-produced, marked Lil Wayne's arrival as a serious talent.
Cons: Overlong, lacks the spontaneous diversity of Wayne's more recent output.
The Bottom Line: While not outstanding, Tha Carter is certainly good, and hints at the greatness Wayne would later exhibit - and lose.
Review: When Lil Wayne released Tha Carter III last summer, I was underwhelmed, at least initially. I was shocked by how lame Jay-Z's verse on "Mr. Carter" was. "Phone Home" weirded me out. I thought "La La" was obnoxious. I thought "Let the ...

"Tha Carter": This building needs to be demolished....

by   mcheadcase ,  Mar 26, 2008
Pros: A few standout beats, and Wayne impresses at least a couple of times.
Cons: Mediocre lyricism, redundant subject matter, mostly subpar production... this album just sucks.
The Bottom Line: 2 Stars: This is the guy that's supposed to be 'the best rapper alive?!' Get fuckin' real!
Review: Before I get into it, I'm going to tell you what inspired me to write this review, which has been planned for a long while. We must first go back to May 2007, when I was graduating college. It was common knowledge that I was hoping to have a career in ...
