There is nothing good about this movie at all.

Leatherface has always been one of the more scary, imposing, gory, terrifying of the horror movie psychos. When I was little I often had nightmares about the man wielding a chainsaw, wearing a mask of flesh. That is why it pained me so much to see this film.
In "Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation", Leatherface is portrayed as a heavy, out of shape, Howard Stern looking transvestite. While, he is still somewhat scary, this film pretty much makes a mockery out of his persona.
Having Matthew McConahey portray one of the Leatherface family does nothing to help the film. He is a cartooney psycho with an electric leg that can be played around with using a tv remote control.
Renee Zellweger is not effective at all as a scared high school prom goer trying to one up the psycho family.
The film obviously was designed as a take off on the series. However I really wish if they were going to do a Next Generation type thing, they really should not have included this version of Leatherface, who seriously takes away from the film.
The rest of the cast is your typical for a horror film.
The film is not as gory as you would expect, nor is it in the least bit scary. It is a pale comparison to any of its predecessors. It is a just plain bad film.
I give it a strong thumbs down, for a film that just did not make me care, nor like it.
