Epinions TI serves up an A+ Calculater

by  donut_man23,  Sep 16, 2006
Pros: Lots of customization, works great for science, math, etc., you don't really have a choice
Cons: Pricy, slow transfer rates and weak software, discontinued
The Bottom Line: Theres not much to compare it to, but the TI 83 Plus SE is an improvement on an already great calculater that adds more great additions.
Review: I've always felt that TI has a monopoly on the calculater industry. I mean every school recommends a TI 83 plus and that seems kind of fishy to me. But I have to give credit, the TI calcs do a pretty good job and they probably are the best around given ...

Epinions Who needs brains when you've got batteries?

by  MuseMelpomene,  Feb 7, 2001
Pros: This is the god of all calculators.
Cons: Gods, though omniscient, are often difficult to understand.
The Bottom Line: Take care of your calculator, and your calculator will take care of you.
Review: The Rambling Circumlocutory Introduction
I have a confession to make. I do not like math. In fact, you might go so far as to say that I hate it. I hate math right down to its disgustingly numerical innards. I harbor an extreme dislike...

Pros: memory, durability, multiple functionality, games, and most of all: it's silver!
Cons: difficult to comprehend at first, slightly pricey
The Bottom Line: Although it takes some getting used to, the TI-83 Plus Silver Edition is well worth the few extra dollars.
Review: I bought this calculator for the Calculus class I took in high school. I was constantly borrowing other peoplesÂ’ calculators to supplement my simply scientific one throughout my Algebra and Analysis classes, and finally decided to save up some money and ...

Pros: Games, Programs, Equation Solver
Cons: None
Review: All my life, I was required to use a regular calculator that was only $5. Then I moved to Richboro, Pa and was required to use a TI-83. I went out to buy it and it was $100. I thought that was the most unreasonable price ever, so I bought it. As I...

Epinions Buy the TI-83 - it does the most - GREAT for HS & College

by  lmgregorio,  Feb 10, 2003
Pros: Only calculator to do Statistical Tests, as well as most other functions
Cons: Doesn't do symbolic integration and differentiation
The Bottom Line: If this is your first graphing calculator purchase, this is the BEST model to get. It is what is used in most schools.
Review: There are many graphing calculators to choose from - so which one do you pick? The TI calculators are the most commonly used. I have a Casio & the TI and the TI is much better. It is easier to follow and easier to use. You don't have to use a MENU...

Epinions A Great Calculator for High Schoolers

by  jukieusmac,  Jan 17, 2003
Pros: Many nice features and programs
Cons: Expensive, may not need all of the features
The Bottom Line: The review may seem a little down on the calculator, but don't interpret it that way. This calculator is excellent, but you may not need all of the features.
Review: If you have a TI-83 plus already, i would not recommend that you immediately replace it with this model. There is really not much difference, except for the 30 dollar price tag.
This calculator comes standard with many handy programs such as...
