Good Basic Calculatin'

I recommend this as the calculator of choice to my science students for basic number crunching. I find the calculator to be virtually indestructible and is loaded with basic math functions.

I have heard many a TI calculator strike the classroom floor by accident just to be retrieved by the student and put back to work.

The two-line mantissa (number screen) is great for keeping track of equation operators. You don't have to rely on the answer as the only means of checking your work.

The plastic cover for the calculator is a bit awkward. Old timers like me who are used to sliding the covers shut on TI calculators spend a few minutes trying to slide the cover on the TI 30X IIs just to find out that it is a snap on cover. I have watched people spend a minute of two trying to manipulate the cover in frustration.
