Unique design but takes up lots of space

The Bottom Line: If you're lazy, like me, the filtration system will mean that you cook with cleaner fresher oil. Nice design but kind of expensive.
Review: Before we get into features and the rest let's deal with an item that may be a deal breaker depending on where you want to put this thing.

Nice Product Idea, Dangerous in Use

The Bottom Line: Look for something else. It's a pretty unit, but it is a pain to use and can be dangerous.
Review: This Tefal Fryer was a family gift to replace our venerable Fry-Daddy. I am not a frequent reviewer on epinions, but this product has become dangerous to use, and I want to warn others about the situation.

temp setting failed after 7 mo

The Bottom Line: failure after 5 months or 40 uses I would expect better Previous cheaper units lasted longer but didn't have cleaning features which is the only thing selling point

Leaking

Review: The first time we started up our deep fryer, it started leaking oil all over the place and we had to put it into a roaster pan and it is still leaking hot oil. A great fire hazard in my opinion.

Problems with Battered Foods

Review: This fryer works well and is easy to clean, as all parts, except for the heating elements, can be placed in the dishwasher. The filtration and storage systems for the cooking oil work superbly well thus there are no oil spillage problems to contend...

HAZARDOUS PRODUCT

The Bottom Line: Deceiving unit, dangerous to use (hot walls and spits hot oil out when  lid is not in place) and extremely messy (oil leaks). Consider another type of fryer.
Review: This unit was used maybe a dozen times only. No problems with the first uses but it soon turned into a nightmare when filtering oil. The oil transfer mechanism is inappropriate and leaks.

After messing up the kitchen we elected to use it...

Nice fryer, would buy again

Review:   I have had this fryer for about a month and a half, and have not had any problems with it.  It heats quickly (compared to my previous fryer), and seems to keep the heat well.  It recovers fairly quickly.  I use it to fry wings (about once a week)...
