Teac SR-L50 Shelf System

The  Teac SR-L50 worked for a few months, then the laser gave out.
Service has to be done at an authorized service center.
The only one in my area went out of business.
This I found out the hard way and informed Teac to update their web info.
There is no local servicer for Teac so they said to ship it to them.
As if I still had the packaging!
Then I asked if I could get several estimates from local repair shops.
Of course not.
Then I thought maybe Teac could send me the necessary packaging.
Of course not.
There was an exchange of approx a dozen emails and two telephone messages.
A Teac "customer service" person called me last night and during the call actually said that Teac "doesn't really do customer service".
My advice. Buy local and don't buy Teac.
