Don't Judge a Book by its Cover

I received Tathea as a gift from my mother. Both my mother and I read and enjoy Anne Perry. As a result both she and I were very excited to see that Ms. Perry had turned her hand to a new genre.

I was disappointed with "Tathea." The disappointment may result from expectations; Ms. Perry's other works always kept my attention and were well crafted. "Tathea" was well crafted, but did not keep my attention. I was looking for a more genuine Fantasy experience and I got a story of spiritual growth. Moreover, we never meet Tathea before her trials so have no baseline to compare her growth against. The Fantasy aspect resulted from the world in which Tathea lived and her travels with an angel so she could meet that world's version of Lucifer.

I cannot recommend this book with any confidence to SF/Fantasy fans.
