Tamron AF 75-300mm LD

Pros: Great price, clear crisp pictures.

Cons: None so far.

The Bottom Line: For the price you really can't beat this lens other than maybe Sigma's 70-300mm. Do not hesitate to purchase this lens if you are a beginner like me.

I bought this lens new for my Canon Rebel 2000 off of ebay for $119. I have shot 3 rolls of film (the first two did not turn out that great but user error was to blame)and I got great results with this lens along with my other lens, a sigma 28-80mm minizoom macro. I found that using 200 speed film makes a huge difference over 400 speed but I suggest that you try several different types and speeds to decide for yourself. This lens is perfect for beginners for me who don't want to spend a lot more on an equivalent Canon lens. After getting a little more comfortable I have found that I prefer the manual focus though the auto focus works great. The construction feels fine and I dropped the lens once and it is still working like new. I would definitely recommend this if you are looking to get into photography without spending a fortune.
