Product Review

Save the money

Pros:  Lightweight.

Cons:  Expensive, short(est) zoom-range, unsatisfying quality.

Overall Rating: 2/5 stars

Author's Review

I bought this lens a couple of month ago, and I wouldn't recommend it.
Compared to the new series of wide-angel lenses from Sigma (10-20mm) and Tokina (12-24mm), this is the most expensive one with the shortest range.
The Tamron feels really cheap and I'm not happy with the quality of the pictures. There is a lot of distortion and the photo's are very soft.
Ok, it's still a "cheap" wide-angel but if money is not a problem, I would invest in a wide-angel from Canon (10-20mm). Otherwise, compare similar pictures to those taken with the other lenses (Sigma/Tokina). I haven't done it, but I'm sure there must be a lens with better, or at least similar qualities for less money.
