Buy and read this book!

A few years ago I discovered the "Tales of the City" series of six books. I have voraciously read and reread each. Some are better than others but all are quite good. Armistead Maupin has a unique ability to make you like the people he weaves his tales around (he also has the ability to bring in lots of popular culture commentary, social criticism, wit, and mystery). Each of his books usually revolves around a "secret" and it is amazing how all of the characters interweave their lives with each other over the course of about 10 years from 1976 to 1988. I wish Armistead would revisit our friends on Barbary lane and give us an update! If anyone is looking for a fun, thought provoking, and sentimental look at the world, this book and the whole series are perfect.
