A Cure for the Frustrations of Button-Mashing
Pros:
Fun outlet for release of tension. Hard to kill AI. NOT REAL.
Cons:
Repetitive gameplay. Should be rated AdultsOnly. CONTROVERSY.
The Bottom Line:
Alternative to games of button combos and BossBattles that sometimes frustrate the hell outta ya! How many times do you have to die, before you defeat a given Boss!?

Author's Review
There has been much buzz about how violent this game is, but coming from a team like Rockstar Games what do you expect. I would agree this game deserves an Adults Only rating. Personally, I love this game. Whenever I get stuck in any other game that requires memorisation of button combos and swift fingerplay (my thumbs ache) I close shop and pop in Manhunt. It is a Stealth/Survival Game with a grim atmosphere and to be honest the game showcases cartoonish violence. You play a convict that has been kidnapped by a sadistic snuff-moviemaker and forced to perform to survive. There are three levels of executions - Hasty, Violent, Gruesome depending on how long you hold the action button. When you perform a gruesome execution it really isn't all that graphic. The first time makes you cringe a bit, but not because of the explicit graphic but because of what is triggered in the players imagination when he asks himself, "Whoa, that's gotta hurt!" The AI is pretty crafty and hard to kill, but if you have the patience you will enjoy playing. Stealth moves are the key with excellent shoot and hide interplay. I would have preferred a more varied menu of weaponry. The real controversy is on level 15. After surviving and escaping your kidnappers you are on your own to find your way but this time your enemies are not roving street gangs but boys in blue. That's right, this is the original kill a cop game. There are other truly significant causes of criminal behavior that Politicians should address. This video game is not serial killer training. It offers a unique release from the daily frustrations that are part of our lives. It's a shame this game is being used by the Political Right as an icon for The Decline of Western Civilization. Critics should give it a rest, video games are NOT Real Life! If you cannot tell the difference then you should not play this game.
