Throwing ours away

We have had this toaster for 6 months or so, and are about to throw it away! It looks nice and it worked for about two weeks, and then the cheap, flimsy mechanism started to self-destruct.
To be specific: (1) Bread will not stay down until you have pressed the lever several times and said just the right combination of swear words $#@! (2) Likewise the cute little push buttons, for bagel, reheat, or defrost do not always stay on the first time you push them. (3) As for consistency, it's a crap shoot whether your toast will come out barely warm or blackened, no matter how you set the dial. (4) The only strong part on this toaster is the spring. When you do finally manage to get the lever to stay down long enough to make toast, it pops up so vigorously that it sometimes throws your toast out onto the counter.
This is a sorry, no-good product and a disgrace to the fine old Toastmaster name. (Of course, it was made in China. Isn't it a shame?)
We have searched and searched to find a toaster that will do just one thing well--make toast. So far we have failed to find it.
One thing is certain, this Toastmaster unit is not it! Guess we will just have to keep on looking.
