Author's Review
Our Black and Decker Toaster oven died after a year, and replaced a B&D we had before. Tired of buying junk that won't last, and started researching toaster ovens. After reading reviews, pros, and cons, decided on this unit.
Still early yet having received 4 days ago; however, love this unit already. Nice design, like the digital controls, and cooking wise, we are learning the unit cooks nicely, including toast, tater tots, butterfly shrimp.
Yes the toast has lines on one side as noted in other reviews, however this is no biggie, nicely toasting two slices of bread in 2.5 minutes.
The top and sides do get hot of this unit. Our B&D unit was mounted under the cabinet with a heat shield, so don't know if it got as hot or not.
Literature indicates the convection should be set to 25 degrees less than a normal oven per cooking directions. So far, seems with or without convection (it's optional to use either), that we are setting to 25 degrees less regardless. I'm sure we'll adjust to it as we use it more.
Anyway, it's a winner in my book. Hoping the three year warranty is a good sign. Bought off toasters.com for 157 dollars, including shipping.
Thanks to everyone who submitted a review that led to my purchase. Hope this information is useful to others.
