After agonizing over and researching which toaster oven to buy...

After checking many sites trying to find reviews on several models of toaster ovens, and after trying to locate the models that were reviewed by consumer reports and good housekeeping, I wanted to run screaming from my computer. I threw up my hands in despair and decided to go for the Cuisinart. (I was looking to replace my 4 slice Black and Decker toaster oven. The new six slice didn't get good reviews from people.) This particular brand got the nod from consumer reports, but none of the toaster ovens got rated poorly and none of them did significantly better than the others. I found about 20 customer reviews on this model and people seemed fairly pleased. All that to say that it toasts well (but realize that toaster ovens do not toast as fast as toasters) with a digital color selector which is easy to use (and it gives you a countdown timer for how long it will take to toast), it did a good job on french fries, and did well on cheese toast. I put an oven thermometer in it to check the temperature accuracy and it stayed within about 10 degrees which is pretty good. I don't find the convection fan to be loud at all. It looks nice, and the functions are designed intuitively. It does tell you when it has reached the temperature that you wanted. Very nice. It heats up quickly too. The only negative is interior size. It is only about an inch and a quarter wider than my aforementioned 4 slice Black and Decker. I wanted something that would be able to cook a green bean casserole or biscuits when my other oven was in use. This will fit my small casserole dish so I guess that it will do the job, but another inch would have made me ecstatic. This will not toast six slices of regularly sized bread at the same time. Other than that, I think that we will be pleased. We are so far.
