Product Review

Great as microwave replacement

by   layanette ,   Apr 26, 2008

Pros:  Big/roomy, Several different features, heats evenly, easy to clean, quiet

Cons:  Toast feature doesn't work well, actual cooking took longer.

The Bottom Line:  If you are looking for something for basic things, i.e. warming or finishing dishes, this is a great energy saver

Overall Rating: 4/5 stars

Author's Review

We bought this about 5 months ago. We have used it less than we had hoped originally but I've been getting the hang of it and using it more often. I never use the toaster feature because it gets things hard/crispy fast but not hot fast, how does that happen???
Even when I just want to heat up a piece of flat bread I use the bake feature. I really like the keep warm feature because it doesn't keep cooking the food but stays warm. It is easy to use and easy to clean (of course we've had no big explosions in there). I also like the timer feature but I usually keep the dial turned to stay on and watch it. Once I tried to cook fish in tin foil in there and it took FOREVER, which is found strange since it should have cooked faster. I started heating things in small casserole dishes in there, I mean recipes in which all the ingredients are already cooked and need "melding" (i.e. lasagnas and enchiladas).
We don't have a microwave and it heats things us fairly quickly in a bowl. But we always have to keep it covered with foil to avoid burning (again on the bake feature). We have been pretty satisfied overall.
