Just in time for another generation of sneaky high schoolers

Date of Review:  Aug 7, 2000
Review: In reality, the TI-89 is really more like a Palm Pilot than it is a calculator, given some of the features it has. For example, the TI-89 promises not to become obsolete quickly, due to its upgradability. Even without this feature, however, I doubt...

Texas Instruments TI-89: It's Like a Hand- Held Personal Computer

Date of Review:  Oct 1, 2004
The Bottom Line: This calculator is expensive, but it's very helpful for students of advanced math. It's worth the high price, in my opinion.
Review: Calculators, in their numerous varieties, have been helping students solve mathematical problems for decades. Once a time- consuming process, math questions, both difficult and easy, can now be resolved in a matter of seconds, all with the push of a...

TI-89: Full of features; for a price...

Date of Review:  Sep 3, 2000
Review: The TI-89 is a very versatile tool. It combines hundreds of built in features including Symbolic Manipulation, Symbolic Differential Equation Solving, Linear Algebra, and 3-D Rotation and Contour Plots to name just a few. The enhanced 100 x 160...

Much more than just a Calculator!

Date of Review:  Aug 24, 2000
Review: For all of you out there that have to have the best of everything, this is your calculator. Besides the TI-92, this is the best calculator Texas Instruments has to offer. I am going into my senior year as an Electrical Engineering Major and I...

Perfect for the techno-major or career

Date of Review:  Sep 9, 2000
Review: Yup, that's right, Texas Instruments has developed another graphing calculator for its TI-8* series. The TI-89 has a lot more features than its predecessors, and makes for one happy college student =)

The Good: Texas Instruments really has...

Texas Instruments TI-89: Is This God?

Date of Review:  May 1, 2003
The Bottom Line: The Texas Instruments TI-89 is by far the best calculator in the TI-8X series. It's like a God for high school and college!
Review: The Texas Instruments TI-89 is the most expensive and advanced calculator in the TI-8X series. It's much more money than either the TI-83+ or TI-86. However, the difference in price is worth it when you see the capabilities that the Texas...

Good Tool for AP

Date of Review:  Jul 29, 2005
The Bottom Line: This is an excellent tool for AP classes, but you will still have to know your math.
Review: Overview:

The TI-89 is undoubtedly the best calculator you can get. It has more memory, is faster, and has a better OS than the TI-83.

The Good News:

The TI-89 can run programs that are more demanding than the TI-83...

TI-89: Unbelievable power?

Date of Review:  Apr 4, 2003
The Bottom Line: Recommended for anyone planning on taking calculus or higher math. It will be worth the investment.
Review: Lets face it: we live in a technological age. I am extremely reliant on my calculator, and most math classes nowadays are intensively calculator based. I agree that it is somewhat pathetic. I cannot image how people took calculus and other high...

TI-89 Titanium

Date of Review:  Sep 21, 2004
The Bottom Line: I highly recommend this. If all math concepts you studied are mastered, this device can take time off problems.
Review: *Note: This review pertains to the TI-89 Titanium, which is newer than the regular TI89.*

What a calculator! In middle school math, I had a scientific calculator. Back then, scientific calculators seemed like the most advanced calculators...

What's the point of being powerful...

Date of Review:  Aug 4, 2000
Review: ...if you don't know how to wield that power? This is the major problem with the TI89. You're just absolutely sure it can do anything you want with it, but you have no idea how. And if you don't know how, then what's the use?

My college...
