Zeiss-like views for under $300!

I am an avid birder and did a lot of research before buying this binocular. I have looked through many binoculars and this is the best for the money. You would have to spend more than twice the amount that the Audubon costs to see much improvement in optical quality (i.e Zeiss, Swarovski, or high end Nikon).

The magnification is perfect for all around birding. I don't know why other companies haven't introduced 8.5's. Magnification of 10 is too strong unless you have really steady hands and 7.5's don't give enough power.

I have recently noticed that this model comes highly rated in reports such as Better View Desired and Consumer Reports. They are right on the money.

I don't use the Audubon for anything other than birding so I can't specifically recommend it for other uses. The views are going to be clear and bright no matter what you're looking at though.

One thing to consider is weight. This is one of the heavier models in this range so if that is a concern, you should probably look at the Swift Ultralights.

If money is no object, you can find a better binocular. But if you are looking for great optical quality while staying in the middle price range, get this one.
