Swaaaank?
Date of Review: Jan 4, 2007
The Bottom Line: I'd buy it if you're ready to break away from boring adult magazines like Playboy. Swank has real sex, no imitations, and it is fun to read.
Swank is a great magazine for guys. It is an adult magazine that has several features. It has one feature that most people buy it for: it has pictures of people having sex or stripping and then masterbating. It also features articles about new gadgets, like beard trimmers or new cars, stuff that is normally associated with men's interests. It also has a few cartoons that are supposed to be witty and funny but are more sort of boring. The magazine is usually about 80 pages long, sometimes more, 10-15 of which are often advertisements.
The pictures of people having sex are usually entertaining the first 10 times you look at them, and after that it gets a bit boring. Still I must say the women (and I guess the guys, if you're into that) are really attractive and sexy. The photographers seem to always have nice settings to work in and the themes never seem to tacky. Themes are often a bed of flowers or on a boat or the shower or a beach or a classy room and then there are some other types of themes they thrown in once in a great while. The sexual acts they perform are always entertaining and exciting. There is never a picture that hasn't interested me. They build up the unspoken plot using pictures. Usually it is just a couple or a group that sort of just meet and have sex but it is sort of funny at times. What they do in the pictures is always hot. The blow jobs are enticing and the sex is inspirational. This magazine is nice because often my girlfriend likes to read it if there is nothing else to do and she'll pick up ideas for us which can either be a big burden or a rewarding adventure.
Often I find that the advertisements get a tad annoying. no one likes to be in the middle of a section of a couple making out only to be interrupted by a section of advertisements for phone sex or meeting couples... things that aren't interesting.
I like the articles because once in a while something interesting will pop up. One time I saw and read an conversation with an interviewer and George Carlin, and another time with other interesting characters I had never heard of but found interesting. One time I read a fascinating article about some guy who made glass sex toys, something that grabs my attention because I am a glass blower myself. Also the reviews of gadgets can be fun. I'd never buy them because they're either silly or way to expensive but the ideas behind them interest me.
